Two hands making a pinky promise in front of a rising sun
Be honest

How long are you on your phone each day?

4hours a day
The hard part

That’s 61 days a year.

About 2 months, every year, on your phone.

The good news

Win back just one hour a day and that’s 15 extra days a year, for the things you said matter.

Your estimate. Digital Wellbeing in your Android settings shows your real number.

Why it works

Reach for TikTok. See someone who believes in you.

Willpower gets tired. Promises don’t. When you open a distracting app during your promise, PinkyKept shows a photo or a 10-second video from someone you love, instead of the feed. It’s a lot harder to scroll past Mom.

How it works

How PinkyKept helps you focus

  1. A sealed envelope with a gold pinky-promise seal
    01

    Make a promise

Pick one to three things, small enough to finish today. Seal it with a press and hold, like a real pinky swear.

  2. A padlock with a gold pinky-promise seal
    02

    Lock in

Your distracting apps stay locked until you’re done. Calls, Emergency and the apps you choose always work.

  3. Mom, the reason shown over a locked app
    03

    See your reason

Reach for a locked app and someone you love shows up instead. Come back, and it counts.

The app

A focus app that feels like a promise, not a punishment.

Keep it, and feel it

Morning promise. Seal tomorrow tonight. When you wake up, your apps stay locked until your first promise is done, so the scroll never gets the first hour.

Made for studying

How to focus while studying (without deleting every app)

Studying needs long stretches without interruptions. Three things actually help:

  1. Make the task tiny and specific.“Revise chapter 4” beats “study biology”. A clear finish line is easier to start.
  2. Remove the easy escape.Put distracting apps out of reach for 25 or 50 minutes, not forever. Short promises are easier to keep.
  3. Remember why.A reason you care about is stronger than any timer, especially at 11pm before an exam.

Questions

Good questions

Is PinkyKept an app blocker for Android?

Yes. PinkyKept blocks the apps you choose, like TikTok, Instagram or YouTube, while you’re locked in on a promise, and unlocks them when you’re done. It launches on Android first, with a Chrome extension next. iPhone comes later.

How does it help me stop scrolling?

Instead of a plain “blocked” screen, you see your reason: a photo or short video from someone who believes in you. One tap takes you back to your promise, and every comeback counts. You can always stop early, but it takes a deliberate pause.

What does a pinky promise mean?

A pinky promise is one of the oldest ways to make a promise you really mean: two people hook their little fingers together. PinkyKept turns that feeling into a daily habit. You make a small promise to yourself, and you seal it.

Does PinkyKept read my screen or messages?

No. On Android, PinkyKept uses the Accessibility service only to see which app opens, so it can lock it during your promise. It never reads what’s on your screen, your messages or your passwords, and your promises stay on your phone.

How much will it cost?

Planning is free. Plus, with app locking, the morning promise and unlimited reasons, is planned at $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, or $6.99 a month. Founding members from the waitlist get 50% off their first year.
